Design Coordination for Southern Maine Homes

All projects, whether small renovations or ground-up homes, need architectural plans before we can estimate cost, order materials, and start work. You may come to us with plans already in hand, in which case we can get started reviewing them together.

If not, we’ll connect you with our trusted architect, Kevin Browne, to coordinate drawings. You’ll discuss vision and budget thoroughly so he can create plans that meet your needs. When you’re ready, you’ll come back to us to kick off the build stage of your project. Learn more about our full 6 step process.

Why plans come first

Finished drawings are what turn an idea into a real number and a real schedule. With plans in hand we can write a detailed proposal covering project scope, materials and finishes, a cost estimate and a proposed start and finish date — the same paperwork described in Step 2 of our process.

Working with Kevin Browne Architecture

Many of our favorite projects started on Kevin Browne’s drawing board, including the Driftwood Lane addition at Pine Point, the Acorn Lane renovation in Scarborough, the Lake House in Windham and the Vaughan Street conversion in Portland. Because we have worked together for years, the hand-off from design to construction is smooth and communication stays clear.

Bringing your own architect

Already working with someone you trust? Great. We are happy to collaborate with your chosen architect, review the drawings together and offer a builder’s perspective on materials, sequencing and budget before the plans are finalized.

• Your goals for the space and how you want to live in it
• A working budget and the timeline you have in mind
• Any existing plans, surveys or inspiration photos
